iPhone OS 3.1 Software update
Apple on Tuesday released a new version of its iPhone operating system. The update is compatible with all iPhone and iPod touch models.
According to the information provided with iPhone OS 3.1.3, the update improves accuracy of the battery level on the iPhone 3GS; an issue is resolved where some third-party apps would not launch; and a bug has been fixed that caused apps to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard.
iPhone OS 3.2 offers a number of enhancements over the current operating system, including a home screen that can be viewed either horizontally or vertically. iPhone OS 3.1.3 also includes a number of security updates related to CoreAudio, ImageIO, Recovery Mode and WebKit.
iPhone OS 3.1 also includes these features and updates:
*Improved syncing for music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos1
*iTunes U content organization1
*Redeem iTunes Gift Cards, codes, and certificates in the App Store
*Display available iTunes account credits in the App Store and iTunes Store
*Save video from Mail and MMS into Camera Roll
*Option to "Save as new clip" when trimming a video on iPhone 3GS
*Better iPhone 3G Wi-Fi performance when Bluetooth is turned on
The update can be downloaded directly from iTunes by plugging in your iPhone and clicking the “Check for Update” button.
